The Economic Indicators comprise household, community and sector level datasets that measure the  household/community capacity to respond to disasters based on economic factors that influence vulnerability. The weighted values for each indicator is summated then added to a formulae that calculates the overall economic vulnerability score for the community which accounts for 25% of the total vulnerability score and rank for the community. The following economic indicators are included in the NVRI.

EC1% household heads that own/ inherited their home

EC2% household heads that own/ inherited the property they live on

EC3% of houses/properties insured 

EC4% household heads employed

EC5% household heads unemployed

EC6% population earning minimum wage

EC7% of household heads earning minimum wage

EC8% of household heads that receive remittances only

EC9% of household heads that are PATHE beneficiaries

EC10% of households heads that receive income from salary

EC11% of households heads that survive on income from family and friends only

EC12% of households heads that receive income from pension only
